Tips on Getting Your Listing Ranked High in a Search Engine

Some of you are now thinking, but how come MY Corkin listing is not at the top of Google/Yahoo/Bing. All the major search engines use their own proprietary algorithm, but they all share some common components. To move your listing to the top of the list, try using the tips below:
1) Add Content to your listing. What does that mean to you?
- Use 350 to 2000 words in your listing
- Upload pictures, each picture is an additional piece of content for the Search Engines to spider, so make sure and leave relevant captions!.
- Post relevant comments on other users profiles / images, this is also great content for the Search Engines to spider
2) Keywords - There are benefits of inserting good keywords in the title of your listing and the body of your listing. Keywords enhance the chances of your listing ranking high in Search Engines. Here are some tips on selecting your keywords:
- Create a Keyword List - Use a Keyword Suggestor to come up with 3-5 words that people use in searches to find your business or products. You can also check the keywords you'd like to use on the following site to see the frequency of how often they're searched: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
- Instead of using words like "it, this, that, item" use the actual search engine keyword throughout your listing. Don’t over do it though, if you mention your keyword more than 20 times it's considered spam.
- Use Keywords in your photo captions
- Use text instead of graphics when possible, spiders can't read graphics
3) Description - By describing your product specifically in your listing title, your listing ranks higher in search engines and subsequently, you greater your chances of the public seeing your listing and understanding what your are selling!
4) Be Patient - It takes a few days for search engines to upload your listings, so if you don’t see it immediately - be patient - it's coming :)
